yeah, so things keep changing around here. i'm playing with concepts and moving elements around, like the good little trained graphic designer i am. again, i think i've nailed something down here, and again, the interior pages will be cracking through their egg shells sometime soon.
i mean, i only have a few web contracts going on right now.... and countless other commitments. be proud of me, though, i have simplified quite a bit. after i realized that life is as simple as you let it be, i've cut down on an inordinate amount of other (surprisingly needless) 'stuff' in my life. now i actually have time to read, watch some quality tv shows(know of any?), or even have a sit down meal.
you could always tell how busy i am by the fact that i haven't washed dishes in a few weeks, and only for the fact that i haven't used a dish in those few weeks.

mtn. high was extremely crowded on saturday. it turns out that both bear mountain and snow summit sold out all their saturday tickets friday night, and everyone who got turned away headed out to mountain high. (i'd put a link up for mountain high's site, but it is so poorly developed that i'll save you the discontent)
yeah, so like they ran out of rental equipment, food, and actually had to stop selling tickets. the bottom of the mountain was pretty much a zoo, and if you had to use the restroom and were a girl, by chance, you'd be waiting in a 15-20 minute line.
it's pretty much all about being a guy (yeah, that whole standing-up thing).
anyways, the snow was great, however, and made for some great boarding. met up with my fellow saatchi production artist (even though he skis) and took on the more advanced runs (less crowded). great day, and i left the resort complete with a sunburn, chapped lips and less $9.75. (how much my lunch cost. we won't go there. i'm either bringing my next lunch or fasting.)
so, a good day. the only major issue i had was the fact that i ran into so many extremely rude people. the lift lines were worse than the 405 around santa monica, with some 10 year old punk trying to cut in front of me. fixed him up good, though, punched him in the face so hard that i broke his brand new, barely used goggles and his helmet fell off before he hit the ground. talk about a serious catharsis.
not really, but just the thought of doing so was completely satisfying.

see? see that? not only is it 5:00, but it's 5:00 on FRIDAY. what a good week..
that being said, i move to include monday in the the current definition of "weekend," and hearby decree that the work week now resides tuesday through friday...
and what a better way to begin the weekend, and get all ready for a day of snowboarding, than by going to Gordon Beirsch... i think i've read somewhere that ingesting hops is great for carb loading...

doesn't anyone WORK anymore??
i mean, honestly, traffic normally doesn't bother me. it really isn't a big deal, and should be expected. that's just part of living in socal. there's a lot of cool stuff out here and i'm not the only one who knows about it.
traffic does annoy me, however, when it's at an unexpected time or caused by trite situation (as in like the 110N being slow because we're all looking at just how stopped up the 110S is).
unexpected time. like today, for instance. i just wanted to meet my friend at a restuarant in santa monica, right off the 10 freeway just about where it ends. i work in torrance. not too much to ask for, i don't presume. what should have taken (or could have, is i guess the realistic wording here...) maybe 15 minutes of freeway driving took 40. traffic on the 405 all the way to the 10, and even slow going on the 10. what's with that? there were no accidents, no adverse weather conditions, i mean, it was in the middle of the freakin' DAY people!
[heavy sigh]
they really need to do something about this. and as soon as i find out who "they" are, i'll write them a letter.

there's just something about starting the work week on a tuesday....
it's about missing that Monday Experience. for whatever reason, be it the relentless symbol of the weekends end, or just the reminder of the workweek's beginning, monday has such a stigma about it that even thinking about it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. (or at least in my mouth... it's kind of like when you haven't brushed your teeth for a few days... )
anyway, starting on tuesday almost leaves you giddy. you cheated the week out of the Monday Experience and it makes those next 4 days that much better. especially at the end ot tueday (ie. right now), when you realize with complete satisfaction that there are only 3 more days to this week. and, for another unknown reason, those next 3 days feel weeks shorter than the regular next 4 days after monday.
so here we go. one day of work down, three to go, and it already feels like friday's close by.
