little bit anxious here. haven’t slept well for the past few days.
the marathon’s on sunday. (the day after tomorrow...)
i’ve been training for the past 3 months, mostly (loosely?) following a “beginner’s marathon training regime.” i’ve done the long runs (a bunch of 12s, a couple 15s, and a 20), and i’ve been through the aches/soreness/dizziness that come with the territory.
i’m not going to break any speed records (i’ll be lucky to hold down 10 minute miles), and though i’m not overly excited with idea of running for 4-5 hours straight, i am looking forward to finishing. that’s going to be cool.
the thing is, i honestly thought it would be hard to train, but it wasn't that bad. time consuming, very much so. overly difficult, no. it just takes patience. and acceptance- running for 2-3 hours straight every weekend is a LOT of time to yourself. a lot of time for thoughts. many, many, thoughts.
anyways, wish me luck. i guess it’s going to be on TV, so turn it on, pretend to see me, and cheer me on.

holy moly it's sunny and gorgeous today!
went running and was completely dumbfounded. almost forgot that i was even running. almost...
the icing on the cake was seeing an old friend (more specifically, my childhood best friend's dad) that i haven't seen in at least 12 years.
now THAT makes me feel like time is slipping by faster than i'd like to admit. tell me how YOU feel when you start seeing people that you haven't seen in a decade. sheesh... 27 is still young by most major indicators, but start running around the neighborhood you grew up in, and seeing people you haven't seen since childhood, and see how YOU feel...
anywho, gotta go. it's against all the universe stands for to be within any enclosed space when it's this beautiful outside....

check me out, i'm in california again...
it's nice to be back... sky seems bluer, the air seems clearer, and the whole mountains thing has the plains beat by a long shot... i can't tell you how strange it was to have a straight, flat horizon all the way around...
hope things are well and hope you're enjoying life.
