merry Christmas!

some local kids threw together this snowman behind our apartment complex (i was impressed).

we had a white Christmas after all! even right now – it’s 34F and just started to snow again outside. big flakes. beautiful.

miranda and I are hoping you and yours had a blessed time. what a Gift we’ve been given…

FIRST SNOW.

yeah, i'm that guy. upon seeing snowflakes falling outside our window, i'm already up and putting on my coat, shoes, and grabbing my camera. i don't think i've seen snow fall 20 times in my life, so, pretty much, it's still magic.

it didn't stick, but it was mesmirizing. an easy breeze, pushing some huge flakes, and smiles on everyone around. right now it's raining, but we're sure to have more of this in the coming weeks.

i heard a few days back it was in the low 80s in socal, with a big winter swell on tap. enjoy! we'll try to stay warm, and dry, and in wonder of it all...

winter indeed…

it’s been in the lower 50s for the past few weeks; we’ve still been saying “fall-like” when talking about the weather and such, maybe in hopes of holding off winter as long as we could…

then, this morning happened. it was 30F at around 10:30 with a light dusting of snow. all day it never broke 35, and it was even noticeably colder indoors with the outdoor temperatures cooling off all the concrete that makes up our walls, floors and ceilings…

welcome to December, and welcome to winter. layering was just an option a few days ago, now it's essential for survival. neat.
