this is a journal being update by someone IN baghdad. not a news agency, not even spell checked.

just a somewhat well-known journal-writer, whose home city is being pummeled.

incidentally, i had MSNBC's live baghdad video feed on this morning while i was working, and saw the beginning of the attack on the city. sounds of explosions, images of anti-aircraft artillery... it lasted a few minutes, and then the feed went off-line. sobering. we can't hide behind time zones and day-late newspapers anymore; the closer we get to reality, the harder it is to conceive.
